Hans is seen walking in the inside parking just as a BMW pulls up. Out comes the GX World Heavyweight Champion, who is intercepted by the interviewer behind his vehicle.
Hans: Is this a bad...
The champion shoves him away, gently enough, and opens the car's trunk to retrieve his sports bag.
Arkken: Now is a much better time than when I will be changing in my personal locker room, so ask away.
He slings the bag's strap over his shoulder and unzips the bag. He then extracts the brand new title belt from it and sets it down on the same shoulder, over the strap.
Hans: This whole season, Wicked Clown has mocked you, even causing you to fire... I mean, banish one of your knights from the Order of the Charter. On Monday, he even secured a victory against you and Thoren Black while teaming up with your daughter, the GX National Champion Immacolata. Are you at all worried about your match tonight?
Arkken: That was a mouthful. Where did you study journalism? Or was it broadcasting? No, wait. It was none of those, and it shows. And it is the Most Noble Order of the Garter, by the way. But as far as Wicked is concerned, I only worry that he will resort to his usual antics, therefore embarrassing us both. This is a Total eXcess Pay-per-View. I should be facing someone prominent, one of the elite, yet I find myself defending against a clown. That word says it all, really. And Thoren lost that match, not I.
Hans: It was social sciences. Have you replaced Sir Godfrey yet?
The champion looks annoyed by that question.
Arkken: His name is only Godfrey now, and of course not. It is a lengthy process to find someone worthy of knighthood. Besides, I was slightly busy this week, just like I will be tomorrow after I once again successfully defend my title.
Hans: Can you tell us anything about what you are doing?
Arkken: Don't you know how to Google? One would think that a nerd like you does his research. One would be disappointed. Monica would have known. I'm sure these people know, and the amount of things about which they know nothing is staggering!
Hans tries to reply, but Arkken cuts him off.
Arkken: This is what you should be asking me. O Immortal One, how can you put up with the level of disrespect you have been made to suffer recently? And I would answer: why, Hans, it is most hard. It is disheartening to think that these people care nothing for my abilities, my skills. They prefer the wrestlers with whom they could share a beer. I do not drink beer. I drink wine. Expensive wine. I belong to another class, another caste, and their jealousy runs deep, so deep it burns. It is the same with the wrestlers, the sorry lot of people I must call my co-stars. I am a more successful champion than any of them has ever been, so they make fun of me to cover up their own failures. If they show someone like me no respect, it makes them look like they are not, in fact, inferior to me. Yet they are.
The champion takes the title belt in hand and displays it to Hans and the camera.
Arkken: Do you hear them all bickering in there? Loki and Semag, Dixon and Black Spirit, Wicked and AoL... they are all talking about the World Heavyweight Championship, MY World Heavyweight Championship. My name is on every lip. They all want a chance to take this shiny new belt away from me. They all want me, for I am the best, and beating the best would make their career forever. At their Hall of Fame induction ceremony, they would show footage of their legendary feud against the greatest of all time, the Champion with the Presence, the Silver-tongue Warrior, the Long Lost Heir to the Tudor Dynasty... they would, but they won't, because I will keep soaring out of their reach, above and beyond any level they could hope to attain. Now leave me, I have a candidate to interview for the open Royal Fool position.
He walks by the interviewer and towards the arena doors, leaving Hans alone with the cameraman.
